The first edition of project Overtone was in a former railway hospital in Wroclaw, Poland. The composition was written by Renske de Boer and Bouke Groen, and performed by the Chamber Choir of the Wrocław University of Technology. The conductor was Anna Sipak.
The artwork/performance is based on a sound exploration. Audio data is collected and based on these “space scans” an audio profile is made. In these profiles, interference and audio aspects of the spaces are mapped out, which form the basis for the compositions.
